Ukraine shot down 45 Russian drones on New Year’s Eve. The country’s air force said this on Sunday.
On New Year’s Eve, Moscow attacked Kiev and other cities in Ukraine with missiles and Iranian-made drones.
Air defenses destroyed 45 Shahed drones, the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement. News from AFP.
The statement added that 13 drones were downed in late 2022 and another 32 in the new year.
However, Ukrainian authorities did not say whether any of the drones reached their targets.
Kyiv police chief Andriy Nebitov posted a picture of the wreckage of a crashed drone on Facebook with ‘Happy New Year’ written in Russian.
Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24 last year. Moscow has established control over most of the country.
