National Social Service Day is celebrated in Bandarban with various events

Bandarban Correspondent: National Social Service Day has been celebrated in Bandarban.On the occasion of Monday (January 2) day,A colorful rally came out from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.The rally ends at the Bandarban Arun Sarki Town Hall after circumambulating the main road of the city.
Later a discussion meeting was held at Arun Sarki Town Hall.

Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Kyaw Shwe Hla was present as the chief guest in the Discussion meeting.Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Suraiya Akhter Sweety presided over the function.
National Social Service Day-23 is being celebrated under the theme of ‘Development and Prosperity-We will build the country in social service’.Additional Superintendent of Police Md.Shah Alam, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr.Thoi Anching, Deputy Director of Social Services Office,Bandarban Milton Muhuri were present As Special Guest.

During the speech of the chief guest, District Council Chairman Kyaw Shwe Hla Said that,Social service is one of the areas of human service.The backward people of the society should be brought into the mainstream of the economy and the country should be taken forward, otherwise it will not be possible to speed up the development of the country.

He also said that the role of the Department of Social Services in introducing programs for dealing with natural calamities and risks, including allowances for the elderly,widows and widowed women,allowances for indigent disabled people has been widely appreciated in the country and abroad.

Also on the occasion of the day Braille books and assistive materials are distributed among the visually impaired.At the same time, social workers of different levels of social service department were awarded with mementos.
