Abdul Wadud was showered with warm greetings from thousands of leaders and activists
Abdullah Al Mamun : Abdul Wadud, candidate of the boat symbol nominated by Awami League in Chapainawabganj-3 seat by-election, was showered with floral greetings from thousands of leaders, activists and supporters.
When former MP Abdul Wadud arrived at Dariapur in the district on Monday (January 2) noon while returning from Dhaka with the party nomination, the activists welcomed him with garlands of flowers.
Later, the motorcycle procession on various roads of the district city ended in front of Bangabandhu Muktamanch. There, he along with the leaders and activists laid wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Later, former MP and District Awami League General Secretary Md. Abdul Odud addressed the short rally to thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ask for votes for the boat symbol.
Meanwhile, boat candidate Abdul Wadud interacted with journalists in front of the city’s modern clinic at 4 p.m.
It should be noted that seven members of parliament of BNP announced their resignation on December 10. Later they went to the national parliament and submitted their resignation letter to the speaker. Among them is a reserved seat for women. The Election Commission has announced the date of the by-elections in six constituencies on February 1.
