Bandarban District Is Unique For History- Tradition And Culture: Minister Bir Bahadur
Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Has commented that, “Bandarban is known throughout the country as a unique district in terms of history,Tradition and culture”.
Minister Bir Bahadur said this while speaking as the chief guest at the Inauguration ceremony of the 2-day folk fair and Pitha festival organized by the Bandarban district administration to highlight the history and traditions to the tourists.
Minister said that people from any district of Bangladesh are traveling to the tourist city of Bandarban Easily because of the radical change in the communication system.We need to be more modern. However,It is not by Sacrificing its own History,Tradition,Culture.
Due to the visionary thinking and guidance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina “The tide of overall development is flowing throughout the mountainous Chittagong today”.
At this time,The Minister also called for the Culture And heritage of 12 ethnic groups of Bandarban hill district to be presented to the tourists.On Friday (December 30) afternoon Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Inaugurated the two-day long fair by flying balloons and doves as symbols of peace in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji presided over the program.
The Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji Said on the occasion,Bandarban is a tourist district and many tourists come to this tourist district every day.The administration is constantly working to ensure their overall travel and safety.
She said,We organize various programs at different times to encourage tourists to visit Bandarban.Especially,folk fairs,pitha festivals,cultural events are organized for the sake of attracting the attention of tourists.
Member of Planning Commission (Secretary) Dr.Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, Superintendent of Police Md.Tariqul Islam, PPM,Deputy Director of Local Government Department Md.Lutfur Rahman,Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Suraiya Aktar Sweety and other senior officials of various government institutions were present on the occasion.
Local Entrepreneurs are participating in 13 stalls in the fair and displaying delicious pitha-puli.Also,Artists from 12 local ethnic groups are participating in interesting cultural programs every day.The finale of the fair will be held on Saturday (December 31).
