Minister Mozammel inaugurated the Mushtaq Chowdhury Memorial Community Clinic
Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque has inaugurated the newly built Mushtaq Chowdhury Memorial Community Clinic in Jokiganj, Sylhet.
On Friday (December 30) in the evening, Barhal UP’s Shahbag local member of Parliament. Hafiz Ahmad Majumdar and Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque cut the ribbon of the newly constructed clinic and inaugurated the free medical camp and medicine distribution program.
At that time, the founder of Mushtaq Chowdhury Memorial Community Clinic and the international secretary of United Kingdom Awami League Kawsar Chowdhury presided over and the teacher Shubhrakanti Das Chandan gave a speech as the chief guest.
He said, under the leadership of Awami League, the country has made great progress in the field of education and medicine. Awami League has made great progress towards educational institutions, electricity, medical services, communication system in villages. Bangladesh is a role model for development. In 1969, the Awami League government came to power and accepted the project of community clinic. But in 2001, the BNP government came to power and canceled this project and started a goat rearing project. BNP does not want Bangladesh as a self-respecting country. Ershad-BNP ruled the country for 29 years. But no progress was made. BNP now wants to come to power with third party intervention creating unstable situation in the country. A group spread false propaganda that if you vote for Awami League, you will lose religion. Misleads people by misrepresenting religion. Sheikh Hasina government has developed mosques, madrasas. A model mosque has been established in each upazila. Awami League government has recognized Qawami Madrasa. The government is ready to pay the salaries of Qawmi Madrasa teachers like school and college teachers.
The minister said that the list of freedom fighters has already been published on the website. Some upazilas disagreed with this and appealed. Appeals are legal and time consuming. Jokiganj is the first free area of the country if any proper evidence is sent to the ministry, then the initiative will be taken to correct it. The people of Sylhet have a glorious history. During the partition of the country, Sylhet region was not joined with India through referendum, so today Sylhet is with Bangladesh. He also said that no religion in the world supports terrorism and terrorism. A group is trying to create division among people by misinterpreting religion. The minister urged everyone to be alert and united so that no one can create chaos in the society by misinterpreting religion.
In the speech of the special guest, Sylhet-5 Constituent Member of Parliament Dr. Hafiz Ahmad Majumdar said, the brave freedom fighters fought and gave us this country in response to the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Their contribution is above all for the country, because of them we got freedom today. It is our responsibility to show respect to them. He praised the international secretary of United Kingdom Awami League Kawsar Chowdhury for setting up the Mushtaq Chowdhury Memorial Community Clinic and said that the country is moving forward under the leadership of late Prime Minister Hasina. Currently, unimaginable development activities are going on in Bangladesh. All parties should be sincere in the development of Bangladesh. Strengthening Sheikh Hasina’s hand will lead to further development in the country. He called on all parties to make the country prosperous.
