NASA’s Orion spacecraft has returned to Earth after a successful mission to the moon. It returned to Earth on Sunday (December 11) after a 26-day mission, NASA said.

On November 16, the Space Launch System rocket of the Artemis-1 mission carrying the Orion spacecraft was successfully launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This is the successful start of the second chapter of the human lunar mission. NASA canceled the launch plan at the last minute due to mechanical problems despite preparing twice before.

The purpose of the Artemis 1 mission is not only to send humans into space. It is the first step in the plan to build a permanent US base on the moon.

NASA wants to return to the moon by 2025. They don’t want to visit there now, they want to live there permanently. As part of that, the Artemis-1 mission launched.
