Allegations of selling government books against the head teacher
Nandail (Mymensingh) Correspondent: An allegation has been made against Anwarul Haque Fakir, the headmaster of the school, for selling 195 kg books of the 2022 academic year of the Udangmadhupur High School in Nandail. On Sunday (December 4) afternoon, after the school’s annual examination, he sold new books to a hawker for Tk 40 per kg. When the locals got the news and blocked the books along with the van, the head teacher and the hawker escaped. In this incident, the angry people demanded the punishment of the head teacher.
Going to the ground on Sunday evening, it was seen that table books were arranged in a market in front of Udanmadhupur school. An excited crowd surrounds the books and snaps pictures on mobile phones. Journalists started a march demanding justice for the head teacher. In the evening, police from Nandale Model Police Station reached the spot.
Udangmadhupur High School Headmaster Anwarul Haque Fakir said on the phone that the year 2022 is coming to an end and the books will not be useful. The president of the school’s managing committee, Hania Masud, said, “I am not in the area, I have heard that the headmaster has sold the books of the school.”
Nandale Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohammad Mufakkarul Islam said, no one informed me about this matter. The head teacher cannot sell government books like this. I am talking to the headmaster to see what is going on.
Sub-inspector SI of Nandail Model Police Station. Sujan Mia said, we are at the scene after receiving the news. So far I have not got the exact information about who is involved in the sale of the books. However, the members of the managing committee say that the old books were sold by the head teacher. So far, Hawker has been arrested from the spot.
