Inauguration of Amon paddy-rice collection campaign in Chapainawabganj
Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: Internal Amon paddy and rice collection campaign has been inaugurated in Chapainawabganj. Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan inaugurated it by cutting the ribbon at the LSD warehouse in the bus stand area of the city on Tuesday at noon.
The Deputy Commissioner said that if any person or business establishment buys and stores paddy-rice without a license, strict disciplinary action will be taken as per the law.
District Food Controller Mahmudul Hasan presided over the event, Chapainawabganj Deputy Director Debendranath Uraon, District Agriculture Extension Directorate Deputy Director Dr. Palash Sarkar, Sadar Upazila Food Officer Zakir Hossain, Food Inspector and Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Abu Ershad, District Chief Malik Group member Akbar Hossain and many others were present.
District Food Controller Mahmudul Hasan said that 2 thousand 115 metric tons of paddy and 11 thousand 344 metric tons of boiled rice have been collected from farmers and mill owners of different upazilas of the district. This year, the government is buying rice at Tk 42 per kg and paddy at Tk 28 per kg. Paddy through “Krishak Apps” is being procured from farmers and rice mill owners through apps, which will continue till February 28 next year.
