Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Yasmin Parvin Tibriji said that,Uncultivated land should be cultivated.Not even an inch of cultivable land should be left vacant. Food production should be arranged throughout the year.She mentioned that the more the assistant agricultural officers of the agriculture department stay in the field, the more successful the farmers will be in food production.

Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji said these things,While speaking as the chief guest at the Farmers’ Field Day function on November 27 (Sunday) at Dumki Para of Bandarban Sadar Union.The District Agriculture Extension Directorate organized the Farmer Field Day Last Sunday Evening (28 November).

The Deputy Commissioner said that,Toyo Mro of Chimbuk Hill has received the Bangabandhu Agricultural Medal this year.
This achievement of his has increased the enthusiasm of local farmers in food and agricultural production.

She called upon other farmers like Toyo Mro to play a leading role in food production. Highlighting the issue of ensuring various opportunities for the farmers,The Deputy Commissioner further said that,Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is on the side of the farmers by increasing the agricultural production and encouraging the farmers in various ways.

She Added Also,The government is going to introduce a special status called “Agriculture Important Person” to encourage successful people in the field of agriculture.

With the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in food and bringing uncultivated land under cultivation,this Farmer Field Day,Organized at the field level with the farmers of Goliakhola area of ​​Sadar Upazila of Bandarban district,Turned into a paddy harvesting festival.

Deputy Director of Bandarban Agricultural Extension Directorate Md.Rafiqul Islam presided over the ceremony attended by BHDC member Kaw Sa Prue Marma, Executive Magistrate Rajib Kumar Biswas, Simit Bangladesh Manager Hira Lal Nath, Bandarban Sadar Union Chairman Angchahla Marma.Free fertilizers and blankets were distributed among the farmers on the same occasion.

It is to be noted that,The Future Bangladesh Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia- Mechanization and Extension Activity (CSISA-MEA) cooperated in organizing the Farmer Field Day program.Which is funded by international organizations USAID.

Meanwhile after the ceremony,Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji visited Roaja Para and Jiniyong Para.At The Time The Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji distributed blankets to the neighborhood residents as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
