Government machinations will make Bangabandhu a target of anger: Abdur Rab
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president AS M Abdur Rab said that the government’s astonishing lies and misleading statements about democracy and development are creating extreme anger among the people. The Awami League and the government are failing to understand what the outcome or consequences of this anger could be.
He also said that the government’s tactic to gain political advantage over Bangabandhu will make Bangabandhu a target of anger. Despite alienating the people from the electoral system, the government’s bragging that it is always ‘elected by the people’ is inflaming the people.
A.M. Abdur Rab said these things in the chief guest’s speech at the opening ceremony of Chittagong District and Metropolitan JSD Council on Tuesday.
He said, in the name of development, in the frenzy of development, the government has sacrificed democracy, rule of law and human rights. The government has turned the state system into a fascist by morally destroying all state institutions including the police administration through repressive state apparatus. No more crisis will be solved by keeping this government in power.
We are committed to fulfilling the dream of independence through the necessary constitutional reforms including the establishment of bicameral parliament, province and provincial councils, introduction of self-governing upazila system.
In the speech of the special guest, JSD General Secretary Advocate Chanwar Hossain Talukder said, “The form of our struggle will be mass revolution to force the government to transfer power to the ownership of the people by avoiding force, bloodshed and conflict.” In the existing reality, the tyrannical government must be overthrown through a mass explosion due to the protests of the people. For this, the working people, working people, professionals and patriots should be mobilized.
