Jaintapur youth for harassing schoolgirl Srighar

In Jaintapur, Sylhet, a local mob arrested a young man red-handed on the pretext of harassing a schoolgirl on the road. Later they informed the police. Upazila Nirbahi Magistrate Bashirul Islam conducted the mobile court and sentenced the youth to 3 months jail.

The arrested youth is the son of deceased Idris Ali of Nijpat Mastinghati village. Jasim Uddin (28). Truck driver by profession and married.

According to local sources, on Wednesday (November 16) at 12 noon, a female student in Jaintapur upazila was returning home from Baraka Coaching Center. Jasim Uddin used to tease. When the student reported the matter at her home, the family of the student took the advice of local UP member Abdul Qadir. As before, Baraka left the coaching center to return home after the class. The young man who had been stationed from the east wandered around the Baraka Coaching Center area. Meanwhile, he came forward to harass the student. When the student signaled to local people including UP members, they detained the youth and informed the police. The police came and arrested the youth and produced them in the court of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Bashirul Islam.

Upazila Nirbahi Magistrate Al Bashirul Islam conducted the mobile court and sentenced the detained youth to 3 months imprisonment and sent him home.

Assistant Commissioner (ACland) Ripamani Devi, member of Jaintapur UP Abdul Qadir, member of Nijpat UP Humayun Kabir Khan and patrol team of Jaintapur Thana Police, former organizing secretary of Jaintapur Truck Drivers Association Saiful Islam and others were present in the mobile court.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Al Bashirul Islam said, those involved in such activities in schools, colleges, madrasas and coaching centers will be brought under the law. Police have been directed to strengthen regular patrolling in school and college areas.
