Humayun Ahmed’s 74th birthday celebration at Netrakona
On the occasion of the auspicious birthday of legendary poet Humayun Ahmed, Himu’s Anand Shubhayatra and cake cutting was organized by Himu Pathak Adda at Netrakona in his district. On the occasion of the 74th birthday of the poet Humayun Ahmed on Sunday, the joyous procession started from the banks of the Netrakona Satpai river at 10:45 am and ended at Muktamanch in Moktarpara. The virtual Anand Sobha Yatra was inaugurated by Freedom Medalist Professor Jatin Sarkar. Later Deputy Commissioner Anjana Khan Majlis celebrated her birthday by cutting a cake at Muktarparastha Muktmanch. At this time, social, cultural personalities and administration officials were present. Humayun Ahmed was born on 13 November 1948 in Kutvupur village of Kendua upazila of Netrakona. His mother Ayesha Akhtar Khatun. Father Faizur Rahman Ahmad was a police officer who was killed by the Pakistani invaders during the war of liberation.
It should be noted that on 19 July 2012, at the age of 64, Humayun Ahmed was diagnosed with cancer and left the country of no return. On July 24, Nandit was laid to rest in his favorite place, Nuhash Palli.
