Rajekuzzaman Ratan, Assistant Secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (Basad) has called upon the countrymen to build a united struggle for the establishment of democracy and voting rights by stopping the increase in commodity prices, corruption and misrule. He said, there is a suffocating situation in the country. To get rid of this situation, the struggle to establish socialism must be accelerated by building a left alternative by uprooting capitalist exploitation and misrule.

He said these things at a rally organized on the occasion of the 42nd founding anniversary of Basad and the 105th anniversary of the Great Russian Socialist Revolution at noon on Thursday (November 10) at Shahid Minar square of Gaibandha Municipal Park.

In the gathering, Rajekuzzaman Ratan said that the multi-faceted crisis in the life of the country including the economy has intensified. Corruption, irregularities and partisanship have revealed the poor condition of all sectors including the financial sector. Prices of daily commodities including rice, dal, oil, onion, ginger are skyrocketing. The people are hostage to the violence of the market syndicate. Income of unemployed people decreased, poverty increased. To get rid of this situation, all the left progressive democratic patriotic political parties and individuals should form a united movement to demand the immediate cancellation of this parliament, resignation of the government and elections under a neutral supervision government.

Basad Gaibandha District Convenor Golam Rabbani addressed the gathering among other leaders- Abdul Quddus, member of the party’s central editorial board, district committee member Kartik Chandra Sarkar, Paritosh Kumar, Israt Jahan Lipi and others. Before this Charan Cultural Center artistes performed recitals, dances and mass music. Later, a well-decorated red flag procession with banners and festoons with various demands came out and circled the various roads of the district city.
