Sundarganj woman’s hanging body recovered
The police recovered the hanging body of a woman named Shahera Begum (38) in Sunderganj upazila of Gaibandha.
The body was recovered from West Chaparhati village (Sarkar Para) area of the upazila on Monday (November 7).
Inspector of Police (Investigation) Serajul Haque of Sundarganj police station confirmed the matter.
Shahera Begum is the wife of Maqbul Hossain of that village. Shahera Begum was mentally unstable. Husband Maqbul Hossain is staying in Chittagong for livelihood.
Citing the relatives, Police Inspector (Investigation) Serazul Haque said that Shahera Begum slept with her children at night as usual. Unbeknownst to everyone, at some point in the night, she committed suicide by wrapping her veil around a tree in the homestead. In the morning, the family found the hanging and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the hanging body of the housewife.
The body was recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy. The police officer also said that the cause of death will be known after receiving the report.
