Inauguration of training on use of drones in agriculture

Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (Bari) organized the Agricultural Statistics and Information and Communication Technology Department (ASICT) on Sunday (06 November) in the institute’s seminar room for a five-day training on the use of drones in agriculture (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Training). A total of 26 trainees are participating in the training titled ‘Tailor-Made Training on Open-Source Scientific Computing for Agro-Geospatial Big Data Analysis’ running from 06-10 November, scientists from Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council, representatives of various universities. In the morning Bari Director (Training and Communication Wing) Dr. Ferdowsi Islam was present as the chief guest in the opening ceremony of the training, Director (Research). Md. Tariqul Islam

During the five-day training course, the trainees will get hands-on training on how to collect information using modern technology in agricultural research like drones, satellites etc. In the opening ceremony, optimism was expressed that this training will play a very effective role in meeting the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
