Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we want peace, not war. We have to acquire the ability to protect the country from the attacks of foreign enemies, so that we can always maintain our independence and sovereignty. We are tailoring each organization (force) keeping that in mind.

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the ceremony of adding two maritime patrol aircraft MPA-8322 and MPA-8327 to the aviation fleet of Bangladesh Navy on Sunday (October 30) morning. The Prime Minister interacted virtually with Patenga Naval Aviation Hangar in Chittagong through video conference from Gana Bhavan. News bus.

The Prime Minister said that our well-organized armed forces are a professional force that is highly appreciated in the international arena today beyond the borders of the country. Since 2010, our warships have been participating on a full-time basis as part of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Mediterranean. Apart from this, the contingent of Bangladesh Navy is performing its duties very efficiently in South Sudan. In addition to peacekeeping missions, the force has been strengthening Bangladesh’s maritime security through regular multi-national exercises, coordinated patrols in the Bay of Bengal and diplomatic missions. I congratulate this active Navy.

He said that besides the development of the armed forces, the Awami League government is working tirelessly for the economic and socio-economic development of the country and has been able to promote the country as a developing country. Bangladesh is now a ‘role model’ of development in the world. We have achieved self-sufficiency in food. But due to the coronavirus and the Russia-Ukraine war, our pace of development has slowed down a bit.

The head of government said that not only Bangladesh, developed countries worldwide are also suffering now. We have to go through that situation. But we will keep this country safe with our own resources and soil and people, who must be careful to produce our food where we have the opportunity.

The Prime Minister said, I will also say that as we are moving forward on the path of development, the international recession has had some effect on us. But we have to try to be free from it and how we can use the ocean resources for economic purposes. We can launch it only through Blue Economy and we have to pay special attention to that.

He expressed happiness at this new initiative of the Navy.

From the ceremony, the Prime Minister was given a state salute through a beautiful parade. Navy Chief Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal delivered the vote of thanks on the occasion.
