Ukraine said its troops were advancing toward the southern region of Kherson, recapturing five more villages in a slow-moving counteroffensive.
Ukraine’s army has liberated five more regions, Yuroslav Yanoshevich, head of Ukraine’s appointed Kherson administration, said on Wednesday.
These five villages are located almost at the same time.
Meanwhile, a senior Ukrainian official said last week that the Ukrainian army has recaptured 2,400 square kilometers of territory in Kherson since the start of the war.
Ukraine launched its own counteroffensive in late August. At the beginning of the counterattack, they captured the whole of Kharkiv. Currently, Ukrainian troops are advancing towards Kherson in the Black Sea region and are having success there.
