Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Sakil Ahmed said, “We have held a meeting with the local people regarding the planting of mines across the Bangladesh-Myanmar border and instructed them not to cross the zero line and go beyond the barbed wire.

The DG of BGB said these things while talking to reporters at the BGB outpost of Rejupara in Ghumdhum after inspecting the Bangladesh-Myanmar Tumbru border around two o’clock on Monday.

However, even before the BGB DG’s visit, heavy gunfire was heard across the Teknaf-Tumbru border.

Even if there is a shot at the border, we send letters of protest.

The DG of BGB also said that there have been some temporary problems at the Myanmar border. This will not affect the border guards of the two countries.

However, he said that no Myanmar citizen will be allowed to enter the territory of Bangladesh, he said, the security has been strengthened by increasing the manpower of BGB at the border.

Meanwhile, from the middle of August to September, mortar shelling continued beyond the Tumbru area of the Bangladesh-Myanmar border for more than one and a half months. As a result, 15,000 people living on the other side of the border were in fear.
