IGP inaugurated unique And Attractive “Highlanders Park and Resort” at Thanchi in Bandarban
Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed,BPM said that the proposed Armed Police Battalion (APBN) camp will be set up step by step to maintain law and order in the hilly areas.Besides,The police administration is working tirelessly to develop the tourism industry.
The IGP of Bangladesh Police said these things after inaugurating a police resort in Bandarban’s Thanchi thana building on Sunday (September 25).Benazir Ahmed said, the remote Thanchi area has immense potential for natural beauty and tourism industry.The roads here have been improved a lot.Tourists from different parts of the country are coming to enjoy the natural beauty of Thanchi.
IGP Added,We are very happy to develop Highlanders Park and Resort near Thanchi Police Station in a beautiful environment under Police Trustee Board as per the demand of tourists.
According to police sources,Highlanders Park and Resort with 8 cottages was officially inaugurated near Thanchi Police Station of Bandarban with the funding of Bangladesh Police Board of Trustees at a cost of about 6 Crore Tk.
The resort will have a swimming pool, traditional food of local hill people,scenic mountain huts,cottages,cafe houses, restaurants and picnic spots Etc.
Among others,Chittagong Range DIG Md.Anwar Hossain,Additional DIG Kabir Ahmed,Bandarban Superintendent of Police Md.Tariqul Islam,PPM and other senior police officers were present in the Program.
