Biden calls on world leaders to keep an eye on Russia’s activities

US President Joe Biden has called on world leaders to keep an eye on Russia’s terrible actions.

In a speech to the UN General Assembly, he said, Russia’s aggression in Ukraine is a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter. President Biden also described the war as brutal and unnecessary.

Biden made this call in his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday (New York local time). He said Putin made an open nuclear threat against Europe on Wednesday.

President Biden calls on Russia to end war in Ukraine to prevent food insecurity The US president said that nobody wants a conflict except the Moscow government. Biden supports increasing UN permanent and non-permanent membership.

President Biden said in his speech that the United States does not want a conflict or a cold war with China or any other country. He reiterated the US commitment to the ‘One China Policy’.

“We don’t want conflict, we don’t want a cold war, we don’t want any nation to prefer the United States or any other partner,” Biden said. The US wants peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. However, President Biden also mentioned that the United States opposes if someone changes something unilaterally.

Pointing out that ‘we are the writers of history’, President Biden urged the world to unite by putting faith in the UN Charter.

President Biden reiterated the United States’ commitment that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. The United States could agree to a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action if Iran complies with its obligations.

He urged world leaders to unite in building a world without nuclear weapons through diplomacy. He also mentioned the threat of nuclear weapons from Russia, China and North Korea.

President Biden said his administration has returned to the Paris climate accord, noting that climate issues have been a priority for investment since coming to power. He also spoke about COP-26 and his country’s commitment to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

President Biden also mentioned in his speech that his administration has passed a spending plan of more than 3.5 trillion dollars to combat climate change.
