Shah Moazzem’s Janaza completed in Naya Paltan
The funeral of BNP Vice Chairman Shah Moazzem Hossain has been completed on the road in front of BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan.
The funeral was completed on Thursday (September 15) at quarter past 12. Earlier Shah Moazzem’s body was covered with BNP flag. Janaza and special prayers were conducted by Nationalist Ulama convener Principal Shah Nesharul Haque. At the end of the janaza, BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy paid tributes on behalf of the party.
Before the funeral, his long-time political colleagues reminisced about his illustrious life.
Dr. standing committee member. Khandkar Mosharof Hossain said, “We are saddened by the loss of the illustrious veteran politician Shah Moazzem. He was a struggle leader. He has played a huge role in freedom movement in student life. I was a student of Dhaka University. I witnessed his movement. Students used to gather in groups to listen to his lectures. He also played a huge role in the liberation war. The speech he delivered in the Indian Parliament is a historic event. He was a patriotic nationalist politician for life. Right now people of the country have no rights, we need a struggling leader like Shah Moazzem Hossain of this movement. Following his struggle, we will continue the movement and struggle.
Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the Standing Committee, said that he created history by giving a long speech in the Indian Parliament during the Liberation War.
The founder of the public health center Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, National People’s Party Chairman Fariduzzaman Farhad, Labor Party Chairman Mustafizur Rahman Iran, Jagpa Chairman Khandkar Lutfar Rahman attended the funeral.
Also among BNP leaders Aman Ullah Aman, Abdus Salam, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habibur Rahman Habib, Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Aminul Haque, ABM Mosharraf Hossain, Sultan Salauddin Tuku and others were present.
