The police have arrested the accused in the incident of raping a 6-year-old girl student in Haluargaon village of Sunamganj.

After returning from school on Monday (September 12) afternoon, it was alleged that the neighbor Abdul Kahar (60) called the child and raped her. Family members rescued the child and admitted him to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.

According to the police and the child’s family, on Monday (September 13) morning, after coming from school, he went outside to play. His mother was sleeping then. At that time, Abdul Kahar called the child and raped him. The rapist’s daughter-in-law came and rescued the child after the child screamed. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. He was examined at night. Sunamganj Sadar Thana police arrested the rapist Abdul Kahar after a complaint from the child’s family. Police OC (Investigation) Moniruzzaman Khan said that he will be challaned in court.
