Three people were killed in a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a pickup van in the Ranapping area of ​​the Sylhet-Jakiganj road.

The accident took place in front of the Fazilpur Mina Community Center in the area on Saturday (September 3) around 9 am. Three people were killed.

The deceased are Lutfur Rahman, father of Majed Khan, former member of Ward No. 8 of Charkhai Union Parishad, Lutfur’s wife Zeli Begum and Yunus Mia of the same area. Initially, their names were known, but their full addresses were not available.

Eyewitnesses said that the two vehicles collided head-on as they neared Mina Center. The CNG autorickshaw overturned and the pickup van fell into a roadside ditch.

In this regard, Golapganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that two male and one female passengers were among the dead. Another person who was seriously injured in the accident was rescued and sent to the hospital.
