A top pro-Russian official was killed in Kherson
A top pro-Russian official has been killed in southern Ukraine’s Kherson. After Russian forces occupied the region, he left the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and submitted to Moscow. They said in the telegram that the deputy head of the military and civil administration of the Kherson region, Alexei Kovelav, was killed by a bullet. Investigating officers said he was shot at at his home on Sunday. A woman living with him was also a victim of this attack. They did not give any details in this regard.
He survived a botched attack last June. Russian forces captured Kherson on March 3. The city has a population of about 280,000. It was the first major city fall in Ukraine since the invasion of Moscow.
