Allegations of torture have been received after the kidnapping of a journalist identified as Detective Police (DB) in Sylhet city. A sensation has been created in this incident. The incident took place (August 22) in front of Madhuban Market in the city around 8:30 pm on Monday night. Currently, the journalist is undergoing treatment. He has torture marks on various parts of his body.
It is known that on the night of the incident, when a young man injured in a road accident was being taken to the doctor on a motorcycle, when the motorcycle stopped in front of Madhuban market, 7/8 rogue extortionist terrorists who were already there took the journalist from there in the identity of Detective Police (DB). At that time, a woman named Katith Lucky Begum was also present with the miscreants. From there, the journalist was put in a torture cell room on the second floor of Taltala Nandita Hall in Sylhet and subjected to physical and mental torture. After an hour, he was blindfolded and shifted to a secret residence in Osmani Medical Road area. After being taken there, he was tortured again. At that time, the woman tried to record obscene video in the identity of DB. At one stage, as a ransom, three white paper stamps of Tk 100 were confiscated and the miscreant gang seized Tk 260,000 in a check book (leaf) of Laldighirpar Janata Bank. In addition, the gang snatched another three thousand rupees from the pocket. Later, while releasing him, he threatened that if he took recourse to the police or the law, he would be harassed by prosecuting conspiracy cases including murder, disappearance.
Meanwhile, the journalist, who did not wish to reveal his name, told the reporter that he is taking medical care from a local clinic for fear of terrorists. After recovery, he will take refuge in the law for remedy.
