The families of 4 tea workers who died in the Srimangal dune collapse are getting furnished houses

4 women tea workers of Lakhaichara tea garden in Kalighat union of Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar district died on the spot when the dune collapsed while bringing red soil from the hill to cover the house. The families of the 4 women tea workers who were killed are being given a gift of the Prime Minister.

Srimangal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun visited the house of the victims on Wednesday (August 24) morning and announced the construction of a paved house after talking to the 4 family members. Srimangal Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanulal Roy, Project Implementation Officer Tarikul Islam, Kalighat UP Chairman Pranesh Goala were present. Earlier, District Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan provided financial assistance of one lakh rupees to the family members of 4 tea workers who died in the dune collapse on behalf of Moulvibazar district administration.

The administration of the deceased 4 women tea workers expressed deep grief on behalf of the bereaved families and expressed their condolences to the bereaved families and provided financial support for the cremation of the victims. Md. Abdus Shaheed.

It is to be noted that on August 19, 4 women tea workers of Lakhaichara tea garden died on the spot when the dune collapsed while collecting soil from the dune for covering the house. The deceased are Hiramani Bhumij (30), Poornima Bhumij (28), Radha Mahali (40) and Shakuntala Bhumij (40).
