After 8 hours, ferry service started on Daulatdia-Paturia route

Sheikh Momin: Due to the fog, ferry service has started on the Daulatdia-Paturia route for 8 hours. The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTC) has decided to resume ferry service after the fog on the Padma River eased around 9am on Thursday.

Akkas Sheikh, a truck driver waiting at the wharf, said he left Magura at 11pm carrying vegetables and reached the Daulatdia ferry area at 12:30 pm. At that time I got stuck in the car serial. As the ferry was closed, the ferry did not reach till 8 am.

I hope I can get on the ferry in an hour. Abu Bakkar Siddique, terminal assistant at Daulatdia 5 ferry terminal, said the ferry started operating at 8 am after the ferry was closed at night.

BIWTC Daulatdia ferry manager. Abu Abdullah Rony said that fog started falling in the river Padma from midnight. When the fog increased around 1 am, it was decided to stop the ferry service to avoid accidents.

When the fog cleared around 9 am, the ferry service became normal. He confirmed that 18 ferries were plying on the Daulatdia-Paturia route.
