Sylhet Bureau: Health workers in Sylhet have gone on strike demanding reduction of pay inequality and amendment of recruitment rules.
Sadar Upazila Health Officer, Assistant Health Inspector and Health Assistants have been on strike since November 26 at the Sadar Upazila Health Officer’s office premises.
\They also went on strike in front of the health officer’s office on Wednesday (December 2nd).
The protesters said that they have been accepting pay inequality for a long time so they are forced to go on strike. Despite repeated assurances, no steps have been taken to implement it.
Therefore, the health workers announced a continuous strike till the notification is issued by the Prime Minister.
