Sylhet Representative: Phensidyl was brought to Sylhet city through Zakiganj border area by ‘special tactics’. Later they were sold at retail prices. This is how their drug business was going on. Such information has been revealed by the Metropolitan Detective Police (DB).
They were detained along with phensidyl in a raid in Laldighi Paschimpar area of the city around 9pm on Friday (November 28).
The detainees are, Abdul Haque Tota Mia’s son Md. Khokon, 30, and Shirin Akhter, 28, daughter of Anai Mia of the same area.
It is learned that on Friday night, on the basis of secret information, the detective police raided the house No. 71 in the western part of Laldighi. At that time, 8 bottles of Phensidyl and 4,200 rupees were recovered from them. Police said they were two identified drug dealers.
Meanwhile, after the arrest, they informed the two policemen that the phencidyl was brought through the Zakiganj border area. Later they were sold at retail prices in different parts of the city. Shirin Akhter himself used to bring these drugs from the border, he told the police.
