Sylhet Bureau : The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has remanded Saidur, who was accused of kidnapping Raihan in Sylhet, for three days.
Judge Saifur Rahman of the Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court ordered the remand on Sunday (November 15th) at noon.
Earlier in the day, the investigating officer (PBI) produced him in court. Later, the court granted Saidur a three-day remand after a hearing.
Meanwhile, last (October 25) morning, Sheikh Saidur Rahman was arrested and brought to the PBI office by the officers of the Police Bureau of Investigation. Later that afternoon, he was arrested under Section 54 and sent to jail through the court.
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) remanded him in court on Sunday afternoon, 20 days after his arrest, citing his arrest in the Raihan murder case.
Incidentally, last night (October 10), Sheikh Saidur Rahman told some policemen at a restaurant in Bandarbazar area that he had been snatched in a wooded area. Upon receiving this complaint, the police picked up Raihan from the wooden house at around 2.30 pm.
He was then brought to the police outpost and tortured to death. The victim’s wife filed a murder case with Sylhet Sadar Kotwali Police Station. Four policemen, including SI Akbar, in-charge of Bandar Bazar outpost, were suspended and three others were withdrawn.
