Asaduzzaman Khairul, Savar: Nazrul Islam Manik Mollah, general secretary of Savar Municipal Awami League, current panel mayor and councilor of ward 2 of Savar municipality, urged the incumbent mayor to withdraw his candidature to get party nomination in the Savar municipal election.
He made the call at an exchange meeting with Ashulia journalists at Savar’s Mamun Community Center on Thursday afternoon.
Recalling the days left behind, Nazrul Islam Manik Mollah said that although he had expressed his intention to contest for the post of mayor in the last municipal elections, his political guardian, Hon’ble State Minister Dr Enamur Rahman MP, withdrew from contesting in the next elections. He hopes to get the nomination.
He also expressed his strong hope that the incumbent mayor would address his elder brother and show generosity and generosity by withdrawing from the nomination race.
Asked about the progress of Savar Municipality to all those present in his speech, he said that despite Savar Municipality being an important municipality, we cannot avoid the responsibility of not having any such significant progress. Therefore, I promise to take Savar Municipality forward by getting elected this time.
Finally, Nazrul Islam Manik Mollah sought the cooperation of his political comrades, comrades-in-arms and well-wishers, including journalists, in his electoral process.
He said that if elected as the mayor, he will implement all the unfinished works of Savar municipality and the plans that have not seen the light of day. He then outlined some of his plans.
These include planned waste management, bringing CCTV in all municipal areas, beautification of Dhaka-Aricha highway in municipal areas from Bank Town to P, A, T, C, arrangement of street lights, adequate water supply, sewerage system.
Journalists of print, electronics and online media of Savar Ashulia along with Awami leaders and activists of different wards of Savar Municipality were present at the meeting.
