Shariatpur Representative : The 49th National Cooperative Day has been celebrated in Shariatpur. A discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony was organized by Shariatpur Cooperative Department at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on Saturday (November 7) at 11:30 am by hoisting the national flag and cooperative flag on the occasion of the day.

District Awami League general secretary Anol Kumar Dey was present as a special guest, Shariatpur municipality mayor. Rafiqul Islam Kotwal, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, Gosairhat Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Tanvir Ahmed, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Faruk Ahmed Talukder, Women Vice Chairman Samina Yasmin, Shariatpur Sadar Upazila Cooperative Officer Md. Speakers at the discussion said, Bangabandhu’s philosophy, cooperative development. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s special initiative has made an outstanding contribution to reducing the poverty rate in rural areas. The disparity between urban and rural areas is decreasing day by day. They said that the key to the developed countries of the world is to build a cooperative based society.
Realizing this fact, Bangabandhu emphasized on conducting every development activity on the basis of cooperatives immediately after the independence of the country.
In its continuation, Bangladesh has become a role model of development, has gone digital. In 2021, Bangladesh will be a middle income country, and by 2041, the country will be a developing country.
Crests and prizes were distributed among the best co-operative societies and the best co-operatives at the event.
