15 held on various charges in Sherpur

Sherpur Correspondent: 15 people including 3 women and 5 convicts were arrested in the police operation in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district in a drive ending at 9am on Wednesday morning. The arrestees were sent to the Sherpur court on Wednesday noon. There are 5 convicts, 2 in drug cases and 16 more in GR cases.

The operation was led by Alamgir Hossain Shah Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakal police station. SI Rajib Bhowmik, SI Hasan, SI Chandan Pawel, SI Abdus Sattar and SI Rabiul Islam; ASI Ratan Chowdhury, ASI Kamrul Hasan, ASI Jewel Mia, ASI Mozammel Haque, ASI Al Amin, ASI Selina Begum and Sabuj Miah Allied forces conducted raids in different upazila-districts areas of the country, including Nakla Upazila from Tuesday midnight to Wednesday morning, and arrested them.

The arrested persons identified as Md Shafiqul Islam and Saiful Islam, son of Md Abdul Qaddus, Mukhlesur Rahman, son of late Mohammad Ali, Md Abdul Qaddus, son of late Rahmat Ali, Mst Rumesa Begum, wife of Md Abdul Kaddus of Kayda village; Sumon Mia, son of Shahjalal of Talki, Ripon Mia, son of Suruj Ali of Baromaisha; Sultan Mia, son of Hazrat Ali of Piprikandi, Md Raju Mia, son of Farook Mia of

Hojorikanda, Mst Alosi Begum, wife of Abdul Khaleq Faraji, Robel Faraji, son of Abdul Khaleq Faraji, Mst Riktta Begum, wife of Robel Faraji, Abdul Khaleq Faraji, son of late Rustom Ali of Hasankhila village; Sharafat Hossain, son of late Amsar Ali and Md Billal Hossain, son of late Suruj Ali of Dhukuria village.

Alamgir Hossain Shah Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakal police station confirmed the matter. He said that they were picked up from different areas of the upazila of Sherpur district on different charges. He also said that the police will not tolerate any wrongdoers, whoever he might be. They will be stricter to stop any kinds of drug peddling. Their position will be on the verge of zero tolerance to drug traders and Community policing has ensured in all stations, he added.
