Two BCL-Krishka League leaders hacked and injured in Chuadanga, two arrested along with BCL leader Jim SP Briefing by SP Zahidul Islam: Terrorist activities in the city will be prevented

Chuadanga Correspondent: Police have arrested BCL leader Shakil Ahmed Jim, 25, for stabbing and injuring two BCL and Krishka League leaders in Chuadanga. He was arrested from Moktarpur area of Damurhuda upazila on Thursday morning. His accomplice Insan (24) was also arrested at the time.
The arrested Shakil Ahmed Jim is the son of Nazim Uddin of Chuadanga municipal area. He is the vice-presidential candidate of the proposed committee of the district BCL.

Chuadanga Superintendent of Police Zahidul Islam told a news conference on Thursday afternoon that Jim was one of the accused in the case of stabbing and injuring two members of Chhatra League and Krishka League. He had been on the run since the incident. He was arrested four days later at dawn. At that time two sharp chapatis were seized from him.

Jim’s accomplice Insan was arrested. He added that some cadres are trying to show their strength through coup d’etat ahead of the upcoming municipal elections. Some people have been involved in the recent Kopakupi incident to disturb the peaceful environment of Chuadanga. Their terrorist activities are and will be strongly resisted.

It may be mentioned that on November 1, while standing in front of the main gate of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, a group of 10/12 people hacked BCL leader Shoaib Regan and his uncle Krishkaligneta leader Mohsin Reza. Later, as their condition was critical, they were sent to Dhaka for better treatment. The next day, the injured Mohsin Reza became the plaintiff and filed a case with the Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, naming five people and accusing 5/6 unidentified people.
