Constable Titu, accused in Raihan murder, remanded for 3 days

Sylhet Representative : The Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has remanded the arrested constable in Raihan’s murder for another 3 days. Earlier, police constable Titu Chandra Das was remanded for five days.
Muhitul Islam, the investigating officer in the case, remanded Titu to the Sylhet Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court at around 3pm on Sunday (October 25) after he refused to testify in court. Later, the court judge Ziadur Rahman granted the remand for 3 days. Muhidul Islam, the investigating officer of the case, confirmed the truth.

Earlier, the PBI arrested Titu from the Police Lines Quarter Guard around 2.30 pm on October 20. On the same day, at around 3 pm, Titu Chandra Das was produced in the court of Sylhet Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Judge Ziadur Rahman. When PBI investigating officer Muhidul Islam applied for a 7-day remand, the judge granted him a 5-day remand.

Incidentally, on Sunday (October 11) morning, Raihan was picked up from the Kastghar area of the city and tortured to death at the Bandarbazar police outpost. Later, the victim’s wife filed a murder case with the Kotwali police station on Monday (October 12). Whose case number is 20 (10) 2020.

After that, an investigation team of the metropolitan police investigated the overall matter and outpost in-charge (SI) Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, Touhid and four others were dismissed and three others were withdrawn. However, Akbar, the mastermind of the incident, is still at large.
