AsaduzzamanKhairul, Savar (Dhaka): Every year a significant number of members of the Ansar and the village defense forces are on duty at the temples to maintain law and order during the puja.
This time, in the puja temples in Savarupazila, members of the Ansar and village defense forces, along with the police, will play a limited role in maintaining law and order. The type of responsibility has also changed.
There is no duty of Ansar and village defense forces in every mandapa like before, from the beginning to the end of the puja. This time they will do patrol duty in small teams.
SavarUpazilaAnsar VDP officer Humayun Azad said the measures were taken to comply with the health regulations due to the Koviv-19 epidemic.
On the other hand, according to the hygiene rules, Kumari Puja is not being celebrated in any of the 182 temples of Savar this time.
Pradeep Kumar Das, general secretary of SavarUpazila Puja Celebration Committee, said this on Saturday morning.
He said, “We are all following the guideline given by the Puja UdjapanParishad and the Hindu-Buddhist Unity Parishad to follow the hygiene rules.” In the guideline, we have restrictions on conducting Kumari Puja in any temple in Savar. So this time virgin worship is not being organized in any temple of Savar.
Pradeep Kumar Das further said that although 189 temples were worshiped last year, this time its number has been reduced to 182 due to Kovid-19.
