AsaduzzamanKhairul, Savar: On Thursday (October 22) morning, Savar Model Police Station led by Inspector AFM Sayed held a traffic awareness rally on the occasion of National Safe Roads Day with the slogan ‘I swear by the year of Mujib, I will make the road safe’.
Rallies came out of Savar Thana premises and held a street rally and demonstration at Bangabandhu premises and ended at the same place.
“We have to be more vigilant to make the roads safer,” said AFM Sayed, inspector of Savar Model Police Station. Urging pedestrians to use the footover bridge, he said car owners, passengers and drivers all need to be aware to ensure safe roads. Addressing the drivers, he said if they feel tired during the journey, they will park their cars next to any police box and start their journey again after drinking tea. On this day, everyone has to take an oath to keep the road safe.
Sub-inspectors of Savar Model Police Station including Saiful Islam were present at the time.
Ashulia police have rallied in Ashulia with the same theme in mind. The rally started from Ashulia Thana premises, went around the bypass of Nabinagar-Chandra highway and ended at the same place.
Ashulia Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ziaul Islam, Inspector (Operations) Abdur Rashid and all police personnel were present at the time.
