Sports Desk: The Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) today has called the thirty six youth hockey players to report coach ANM Mamunur Rashid on Saturday (October 10) at 4 pm at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium for ahead of the training camp for Bangabandhu U-21 Asia Cup Hockey.
today, Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) acting general secretary Mohammad Yousuf said after reporting on Saturday the players would go through a COVID-19 test in the next two days. After completing the testing formalities, the player would start the full fledged camp from October 15.
He said we’ll completely ensure the security of players as well as the stadium during the training camp so that no one cannot enter inside the stadium.
He said the players’ will be accommodated at Bangladesh Air Force’s Bangabandhu Base at the Dhaka Cantonment from where the players would come to practice at hockey stadium. We will make all arrangements for travel for the players so that the players can make their training without any hindrance. The BHF would decide the practice schedule at a later stage.
Yousuf said they would arrange an isolation center at Shaheen School if any player tested for COVID-19 positive during the testing period.
The BHF will host the Bangabandhu Men’s Junior Asia Cup Hockey scheduled to be held on 21-30 January next at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
The ten countries are Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, India, Oman, Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Pakistan and host Bangladesh.
Among the ten countries top six teams – Bangladesh, India, Japan, Pakistan, South Korea and Malaysia — of last tournament will directly play this year’s tournament while remaining four teams — China, Chinese Taipei , Oman and Uzbekistan – have come after participating in the selection round held in Oman last year.
The top three countries of the Junior Asia Cup will qualify for the next edition of Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup.
The tournament was earlier scheduled to hold on June 4-14 this year but the tournament was postponed due to COVI8D-19 pandemic
The following players who have been asked to report are Biplob Khujur, Nuruzzaman, Mehedi Hasan, Ashraful Islam, Fazle Rabbi, Shafiul Alam, Prince Lal Shashonto, Mohammad Mahbub Hossain, Nayeem Uddin, Raju Ahmed Topu, Sarowar Murshed, Shawon, Sohanur Rahman Sobuj, Khaled Mahmud Rakin, SS Mehrab Hasan Samin, Amirul Islam, Abed Uddin, Al Nahiyan Shuvo, Mehedi Hasan, Nazmul Hasan, Mridul, Arshad Hossain, Rajib Das, Hridoy Sheikh, Sihab Hossain, Zahid Hossain, Ashraful Alam, Obaidul Haque Joy, Mohammad Mohsin, Debashish Kumar Roy, Alamin Mia, Shakib Mahmud Ovi, Yasin Arafat, Shoyeb Mollik Tonmoy, Mehedi Hasan Limon, Sabadur Rahman Mithu, M Rokibul Hasan (Rocky) and Rokibul Hasan.
