Two accused in child rape case remanded in Sylhet

Sylhet Representative : Police have remanded the rapists for two days in connection with the rape of a fifth grade schoolgirl in Sylhet.

Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Third Court Judge Sharmin Khanam Nila granted their remand on Tuesday (October 6th) morning. Earlier, the Jalalabad police remanded the accused to court for seven days, but the judge granted them a two-day remand.

Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj, Advocate Ranjan Ghosh and Advocate Debabrata Chowdhury Liton represented the plaintiffs in the court. Advocate Debabrata Chowdhury Liton confirmed the remand.

The remandees are Jasim Uddin, 22, son of Nasir Uddin of Rayergaon in SMP Jalalabad police station area and Mohammad, son of Tajmul Ali of the same area. Ekhlach Mia (20).

It may be mentioned that on September 13 (Sunday) two youths from the same area ‘raped’ a fifth grade schoolgirl (12) studying at Rayergaon Primary School in Sylhet suburb. Later, the schoolgirl’s father filed a case against the two at the Jalalabad police station on the night of September 13. Whose case number is 8/2020. The Jalalabad police arrested them 19 days after the case.
