Chapainawabganj Correspondent: In recognition of their contribution in the field of literature and culture in Chapainawabganj, a total of 14 people, including four late writers, were awarded the Sammanna-2021. Prominent and short-lived writer Mushfiqa Minhar presented the crest and sash to the poet in recognition of his literary work. A memorial service was organized at the teachers’ auditorium of Nawabganj Government College on Friday afternoon.
Former MP Abdul Wadud, general secretary of district Awami League, addressed the function as the chief guest. Former Principal of Rangpur Cadet College Md. Israil Haque and Md. Emdadul Haque, father of short story writer Mushfiqa Minhar, spoke as special guests on the occasion under the chairmanship of Prominent cultural personality, heroic freedom fighterMonim-ud-Daula Chowdhury.
The recipients of the award are Prof. Dr. Shankar Kumar Kundu, Principal, Nawabganj Government College for his contribution in research and poetry, Prof. Dr. Mazharul Islam Taru, Head of Bangla Department, Nawabganj Government College for his contribution in continuous research on district history and heritage and folk culture, regional history and liberation war, Literary Amena Khatun Laily, Academician and Writer (Posthumous) Md. Abdus Samad, Poet and Writer (Posthumous) Dilara Chowdhury, Writer (Posthumous) Saifuddin Ahmed, Writer and Researcher Mojibur Rahman, Poet and Literary Anif Rubed, Writer and Researcher (posthumous) Md. Mahtab Uddin, Poet Storyteller and Researcher Dr. Shahid Sarwar Hossain Alo, Painter and Coordinator Mushfiqa Minha, Academician and writer Md. Tariqul Alam (Master), heroic freedom fighter Monim-ud-Daula Chowdhury for his special contribution in the history and tradition of the district and in the war of liberation.
